Pump Academy Private Limited, a leading provider of pumping station monitoring and management solutions and services, has secured an important project by the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) for the optimization of pumping system monitoring and management. The project, valued @ INR 80 million ($1 mn), aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of BWSSB’s water supply network, ensuring better service delivery to the citizens of Bengaluru.
The scope of the project includes a comprehensive assessment of BWSSB’s existing pumping infrastructure, identification of inefficiencies, and gives recommendations and advice for implementation of tailored solutions to optimize energy consumption, reduce operational costs, and enhance overall system performance. It involves the implementation of Integrated Performance Management System (IPMS) in Stage 4 Phase-I water pumping stations at TK Halli, Harohalli and Tataguni, having the capacity of 300 MLD under the Cauvery Water Supply Scheme.
Pump Academy will utilize its proficiency for monitoring and management of pumping stations, monitoring energy efficiency, and data analytics to formulate and implement innovative strategies aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and maintaining performance sustainability. Through the integration of cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices, it aims to elevate the standard of service delivery for pumping stations. Its revolutionary digital solution, iPUMPNET, developed indigenously by Pump Academy, will play a pivotal role in this project. iPUMPNET harnesses advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to optimize the efficiency, control, and monitoring of pump-set, thereby fostering a smarter and more sustainable approach to water management.
“We are honoured to have been approved as vendor for implementation of IPMS by BWSSB for this critical project,” said Anil Sethi, Chairman, Pump Academy. “Our team of experts is committed to delivering sustainable and cost-effective solutions that will enhance the pumping system’s energy efficiency, improve operational proficiency, reduce the life cycle cost (LCC), and extend the lifespan of pumping systems with more service reliability. This project aligns with our mission to contribute to the development of smart and resilient water infrastructure in urban areas. Pump Academy is already executing a similar project for this esteemed client, and we are confident that Pump Academy’s expertise and innovative solutions will help in achieving our goal of enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of the water supply network, helping BWSSB to deliver better services while minimizing environmental impact.”
The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) is entrusted with providing water supply services to 12.9 million residents of Bengaluru, delivering 1450 million litres per day (MLD) of drinking water through an extensive 8,746-kilometer pipeline network spread across the city. In pursuit of operational optimization and environmental sustainability, BWSSB has actively engaged in initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing its ecological impact.
The collaboration between BWSSB and Pump Academy holds promising potential, anticipated to yield significant benefits. By leveraging Pump Academy’s expertise, BWSSB aims to achieve reduced energy consumption, lower operational costs, and enhanced water supply services for the city’s residents. Moreover, this partnership is expected to contribute to substantial reductions in carbon emissions from pumping stations, enabling BWSSB to earn valuable carbon credits and further promote environmental stewardship.
